Goin' Goin' Gone to Greece!

My next and last stop, Athens, Greece. I had expected Greece to be another amazing site and well, it came through, I would say Greece is more then amazing, the scenery was magnificent especially from the birds eye view I had in the plane. Just the sight of its beaches amazed me I think compared to Capri in my previous visit to Italy Greece is better hands down. In Athens Greece I decided to go see it's architecture as well and what better place to go then the Parthenon. The Parthenon was built similarly different then the Leaning Tower of Piza or the Colosseum in Italy. The Parthenon seemed more worn out compared to the Colosseum. There was a very large crowd there also it was difficult for me to take a good picture over everyone's head. I took a ride to Olympia, Greece after, to see the temple of Zeus, or what's left of it. It was nearing the end of my trip, and i needed to get back to France to catch the plane back home, so i left on the 14th of December to get to France by the next day so I won't miss my plane home. So I'm on my way home, I had a great time spending my birthday here, I can't believe how much I have seen but now it's time to go home.

It's Italy!

My next stop, Rome, Italy. What a long train ride it was to get here from the Netherlands, but I finally made it. As soon as I stepped off the train I knew my first destination instantly, The Colosseum. The Colosseum, wow what a site! It was much bigger then i expected, and the architecture was marvelous! As i stood there I felt like a Roman back in Ancient times staring up at the massive arena. Next i went to one of the most beautiful islands i have ever seen. Right off of Italy is the island of Capri. The scenery was just absolutely amazing, everything from the ocean view to the trees. I would recommend for people to come here for a vacation, i wouldn't mind coming back here as well. Then I went to the city of Piza to see the renowned, Leaning Tower of Piza. What a site, its seemed in much better shape then the Colosseum. I couldn't believe how the Roman Architecture was, how did they accomplish building these structures so well, and to last for such a long time. I wanted to try the food in Italy, i knew i had to because Italian food is personally one of my most favorite types of food. The reason I do is because of the variety they have in their foods, I tried their lasagna and it was so much better then i had imagined. Its the 4th day here on 12/12/09 my birthday was yesterday and I was happy to spend it here in Italy. My next destination is Greece, i couldn't find a train ride there so i had to go by plane. So, onward to Greece!

Next Stop Netherlands!

I have arrived by train to Amsterdam, Netherlands. Amsterdam, not really what I expected, it could have been much better but that's just me. I recommend you go here if you really like to party in the night. Although there is one thing that really bothered me, they have urinals in the middle of the street, not a great idea in my opinion, I like my privacy. The first place I went to was the Amsterdam Historical Museum in Dam Square. There i saw many wonderful paintings, Marquettes, archeological finds, and many more. The buildings architecture was like none I've ever seen here in the United States.I just had to go Tulip Cycling to see all the wonders of the Netherlands. It made me feel so alive, it was one of the most fun things I have ever done in my life. I couldn't believe how many flowers I saw it was so beautiful. I thought i might go see one of the many castles. I chose to go to the Het Loo Palace in Apeldoorn. It was one of the nicest castles i have ever Seen. Usually castles would look old and worn but this one still looks up to date. My next destination was Rome, Italy. So i hopped on the train ready to go on 12/08/09, onward to Italy!

Fist up France!

Finally! something big in my life, a trip to Europe. As I began the plane ride from Charlotte I felt so excited to finally see new countries, and a different continent. I had saved up $3000 dollars for the trip so I thought that I had better use it wisely. It began December 1st, 2009, my first stop, France, home of the Eiffel tower. What a long plane ride it was about 8 hours, gosh that's so long. The main reason i went here was because i wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, and yes what a site it was, better then i ever imagined! Then i went to Jardin des Tuileries one of Paris's most central and to me a very beautiful gardens. Everything from the fountains, to the trees, statues, it was amazing! Then i went to the Luxembourg gardens, it also had much to offer, but i don't think it was as beautiful as the Jardin des Tuileries. France had many different foods compared to the United States. Since I was there i decided to try one of the most famous French delicacies, Escargot or snail. It really wasn't as bad as it sounds, it was actually really good. If you are ever in France i would recommend that you try escargot, it's truly a good dish. Its my last day here in France and I decided to leave Paris on December the 5th, my next destination was the Netherlands. So boarded the train, next stop, Amsterdam!
